My name is Alison Evangelista and I have been a licensed family child care educator since 1997.
My program, Chickadee Hill Family Day Care, is located on Bear Hill Road in Reading. The hours of operation are Monday-Friday 7:30-5:00, with early drop off and late pickup options available.
I am a graduate of Boston College and have over 200 hours of continuing education in all areas of child growth and development. I am the mother of two grown children, and our home has two very friendly indoor cats.
The program capacity is ten, and I work alongside two licensed co teachers, so our teacher to child ratio is about 1:3. Chickadee Hill offers the amenities and space of a much larger day care center, with all the comforts of home. The day care is located on the first floor and has it's own kitchen and bathroom. The main room has a generous play space for blocks, dress up and pretend play, as well as a designated infant space complete with floor mats and wall mirrors. In addition we have a preschool classroom with tables and circle time rug. We offer a loving atmosphere with a structured daily schedule. Ample time is allotted for free play, arts and crafts, co-operative group play and preschool activities.
Our preschool program, Funshine Express (www.funshineexpress.com) includes math, science, literacy and pre writing activities. It is a theme based approach and focuses on topics of interest to children ages 2-4. Additionally, we have weekly music class. James Lepler (www.kidsnharmony.com) comes each week with his guitar to sing and dance. Children learn about rhythm, melody, tempo and rhyming while singing well known favorites and some original songs.
We have outdoor recess twice daily (weather permitting of course) in our HUGE fully fenced, shady and very private play yard. For outside recreation we offer climbing structures, along with ride on toys, balls, bubbles, water table, etc. The entire play area is covered with playground mulch for safety.
Good communication between parents and educators is the key to a successful child care arrangement. To foster this we use the Daily Connect App. This ensures that parents are kept well informed of the child’s experiences at day care. In addition, we are always available to talk either at drop off or pick up, or by phone, text, or email any time.
Please call (781) 460-1994 or email chickadeehilldaycare@verizon.net for more information or to set up a tour. Numerous references available on request

"A safe, stable, nurturing and educationally enriching environment for your little ones to LEARN, GROW & PLAY. "
Hi, my name is Michelle Sousa and the owner of Cobblestone Corner. I have a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education and a Wilson Reading certification. I am certified to teach K through Grade 2 in Massachusetts, have had over 25 years of experience with children and am a mother myself. I consider myself to be a high energy, loving, attentive, patient and responsible educator who is at my happiest when surrounded by ABC’s, 1,2,3's, messy crafts, giggles, and lots of little hugs.
Cobblestone Corner enrolls children 2 and a half years old and up, and offers a toddler/ preschool and pre-k program. My program is licensed for 10 children with myself and another second full time lead teacher, Miss Susan, teaching at Cobblestone Corner fulltime. Miss Susan has also had many years of experience, and is a mother herself. The children absolutely adore her. We also have an additional teacher, Miss Michaela, who just joined us.
Our school is located in my home, at 64 Sanborn Street in Reading, MA and I am open from 7:30am until 4:30pm (7:30-4pm or 8:30-4:30pm schedules) Monday through Friday. We follow the Reading school calendar for the most part, except that we are open until the end of June.
We have an entire floor dedicated to our preschool which has a bathroom with a toddler sized toilet and sink (perfect for building confidence during potty-training and no step stool falls), a kitchen to prepare meals, a dedicated circle time area, an arts and craft/ eating area and 2 large open planned play areas. We also have a fully fenced in backyard with playground turf and ride on cars, playhouses, an outdoor pretend kitchen, water tables, bubbles, balls, see-saws and lots more. Cobblestone Corner provides a yummy breakfast, 2 snacks and a big healthy lunch each day.
We use Classdojo as our communication tool so that the parents are informed about what they learnt about, had fun doing, and any special and sweet moments we think you would enjoy hearing about, as well as photos from our day. ( I do not post any photos on Facebook).
Our curriculum incorporates learning into fun monthly themes, and we do many fun and creative crafts and activities weekly. We use the Lively Letters in our program which teaches the children letter sounds in fun and memorable ways so that they are ready for the reading expectations of kindergarten and use the Wilson Reading Program for our pre-k learners so that they know what to expect when entering the Reading public school system. We use Cor Advantage as our progress tracker tool. We have a fun music class with James, from Harmony Kidz, every 2 weeks.
I believe school and learning should be a time discovery and exploration. Most of what young children learn is through sensory experiences, which is why we promote, encourage and incorporate education into play. Our program meets the developmental needs of all children and supports them as they grow physically, emotionally, intellectually and socially.
I look forward to speaking with you and possibly playing a special and important part in your child’s life.

My name is Rathikumary Nesaratnam (Rathy) and I have been a licensed family child care educator for almost 5 years now. I have 15 years of experience with kids. I am the mother of two daughters, ages 18 and 20. Mother’s Helping Hand Daycare is located at 32 Park Avenue in Reading. I work with my daughter, Niraji Nesaratnam, who is a licensed assistant educator. Mother's Helping Hand Daycare has a capacity of 8 children. My hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 6:30am to 5:30pm.
Mother’s Helping Hand Daycare is located on the first floor of my house. It offers a loving and nurturing atmosphere for children of all ages. There is a large room where the children spend most of their play time. Numerous toys and books fill the room. In the next room, half the area is dedicated to arts and crafts while the other half is where we nourish the children with nutritious food.
Children learn and grow each day in my home. We read books and sing nursery rhymes during the course of each day. We have outdoor recess when it is a beautiful day. Our backyard is fully fenced and has fun toys such as climbing structures, toy cars, bubbles, a sand pit, balls, etc. We take field trips to the Stoneham Zoo, Stoneham Rec Center, and much more during the year.
At the end of each day, I keep parents informed about the course of their child’s day (what they ate, nap schedule, diaper changes, brief summary of the day). I am always available to talk at any time (in person, phone, or email).
Please call (781) 942-3730 for more information or to set up a tour/information session.

Precious Moments Preschool is a home-based program licensed and regulated through the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care. Program hours are:
Monday through Thursday 8:00am – 4:30pm.
Half Day and Full Day spots available for children 2.5 – 5 years old.
We are currently enrolling for Fall 2021.
At Precious Moments Preschool, we strongly believe that children learn best through hands on experiences that engage them through movement and exploration. We have a small group of 10 kids a day which allows us to focus on each child’s individual strengths and developmental goals. We use emergent curriculum to build our activities around the children’s interest and own natural curiosity and desire to learn. We believe that it is our job to help children build confidence and autonomy to reach developmentally appropriate learning goals. Most importantly, we want to instill a love for learning that your child will carry with them as they start their educational journey!
My name is Samantha Benoit, and I am the Owner/Educator here at Precious Moments. I have over 20 years of experience working with children and have been operating Precious Moments since 2016. I have obtained my Child Development Associates, Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, Lead Teacher/Director 2 Certified and am currently attending Salem State to finish my Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education. I have a teaching assistant who works along side me making our daily ratio 5:1.
